“Tonight was the first AmDram production I have ever attended and I was amazed."
"A really enjoyable, funny and convivial evening... worth every penny."

Dead Air is set in a time when television is the “new kid on the block.” The glory days of radio are passing. Audiences are not content with hearing their favourite stars performing - they want to see them as well. However, for one man the future still belongs to the airwaves; Oscar Lorenzo, the self-styled King of the once-popular BBC music show “Jazz Hour” has plans to turn the programme into the biggest thing on radio. But what Oscar doesn’t bargain for is the show’s decline in popularity both with the listening public and the BBC hierarchy.
Max Winterman, the show’s producer, informs Oscar of the plans to axe “Jazz Hour” in a less-than-amicable meeting between the two. This throws Oscar’s plans into turmoil; his subsequent treatment of the programme’s backing singers, the BBC runner who runs the gauntlet between Max and Oscar and his ex-wife who turns up unexpectedly only serve to create sharp divisions between the various characters. But when the animosity that bubbles beneath the surface turns into murder the future of a once-successful BBC radio programme pales into insignificance.
Who is the murderer stalking the corridors of the BBC? Pit your wits against Scotland Yard’s finest; come and see the latest St Jude’s Players production “Dead Air” and solve the crime!
